My approach to real estate is based upon a belief that all people need very individualized and intentional real estate advice, care and consideration. I’ve served Oakland, Berkeley, and the greater San Francisco Bay communities since 1998, consistently ranking as one of the region’s highest producing Realtors®. After my father’s death, our family moved to New York City, however, the Bay Area’s pull was strong. I returned to pursue a Master’s Degree in Theatre Arts at San Francisco State University, where, upon graduation, I became the Artistic Director of an award-winning, non-profit theatre company, as well as directing productions across the US. On this journey, I’ve met so many interesting people, and sold some very interesting houses. I trademarked that phrase – Interesting People, Interesting Houses™ because it genuinely synthesizes my experience as a Realtor®. I’m still surprised by the intelligence, kindness, and generosity of my clients – and the real estate professionals I’ve had the pleasure to work with. I’m honored to participate in one of the most important transactions of a person’s life – selling or buying a home. I love what I do. It brings me great satisfaction to help my clients make their real estate dreams come true. For me, real estate is a way to empower people to work in their communities, improve their financial lives, and increase their happiness.
I’m a Berkeley native with deep family roots here. My father was a concert pianist who taught at UC Berkeley and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, while my mother, an opera singer of Icelandic heritage, toured the world performing with great companies like the San Francisco Opera.
I’ve also taught theatre at universities and drama schools across California, and support the creative community by strong donations to arts-minded non-profit organizations. I also continue to work in theatre and am proud to be an Artistic Associate of 3Girls Theatre Company in San Francisco.
My journey as a Bay Area Realtor® began in 1998, where I worked extensively in San Francisco. In 2003, I recognized the East Bay’s growth potential and since I had been at Century 21 in the city, I initially went to Century 21 Heritage, but then joined Coldwell Banker in Montclair, and became a top producer for eight consecutive years.
After that I moved to Red Oak Realty, where for three and a half years I was recognized as the top producing agent company-wide.
My move to COMPASS in 2019 was the logical next step. I’m delighted to partner with this dynamic company – with an ethos of collaboration at its core.
Attracted to their elegant branding, sophisticated aesthetic, tech-forward approach and global reach, COMPASS's extensive marketing and sales platform, helps me grow my business exponentially, while providing highly personalized, “concierge” level service to my clients.
I also think it is important to actively serve the greater real estate community. In 2015, I was named “Realtor® of the Year” by the Oakland and Berkeley Association of Realtors®, where I served as a Board Member from 2012 - 2018. Currently, I serve as a member of the board for Bridge MLS — our East Bay multiple listing service.
My husband and I live in Berkeley’s Claremont Knolls neighborhood in an amazing Mid-Century Modern home we cherish, among neighbors and friends we adore. And, after two decades of marriage, we’re still madly in love (he still makes me laugh every day). Our “furry” family includes four rescue terriers, two cats, and two colorful parrots. As committed animal lovers, we give back to our creature-loving community with generous support to the Berkeley Humane Society and Hopalong Animal Rescue foundations, among other deserving rescue organizations.
